Leucoderma Treatment Using Ayurveda And Home Remedies

Leucoderma is an acquired skin condition characterized by a localized loss of skin pigmentation. It is a complicated disorder and so it has to be treated at the earliest possible time. There are many types of skin conditions that can alter your skin tone. Some of them are dead cells, the formation of some defective substance in the dermal layer of your skin, and more. Only with a proper diagnosis can leucoderma be identified. Leucoderma can be treated in many ways – both natural and with medication. Not all treatment methods may be appropriate for every sufferer of leucoderma, however. Here are some choice treatment methods:

Leucoderma Treatment

Ayurveda treatment for leucoderma:

Leucoderma is a difficult disorder to treat, despite the availability of many advanced techniques for its cure. This is why many still rely on the natural methods for leucoderma treatment.

Among all natural methods, Ayurveda treatment is considered one of the most reliable, as substances have been discovered for nearly all possible health disorders. Ayurveda treatment for leucoderma takes a long time, but significant results are achieved at the end of treatment. Leucoderma is cured with the help of some herbs that can increase the immunity of the body and thereby trigger the melanocytes to increase dermal cells. Melanin is responsible for the dark coloration on our skin and if you lack this pigment, you will turn pale or white.

One useful herb that is used to help eliminate leucoderma is Bavachi. This herb is effective in increasing immunity. This is taken either orally, in the form of tablets or powders, or topically, as pastes. Dosage is prescribed in gradually increasing amounts for some weeks, and depending on the response to the treatment, it may be gradually decreased for the subsequent days. Ayurvedic treatment for leucoderma, or any other disorder for that matter, would only be effective if supplemented with a healthy diet.

Home remedies for leucoderma:

Mix vinegar with finely powdered radish seeds and make a paste. Apply this paste on the areas that exhibit leucodermal defects. The white patches are acted on by these natural organic products. Boil eight liters of water with 500 gms of turmeric in it. Boil this mixture long enough so that it is reduced to one liter. Strain the water and apply this paste on the white patches. Psoralea is a very effective product for the treatment of leucoderma. Mix this either with ginger or with turmeric to get the desired effect. Another remedy for leucoderma includes the mixing of red clay with ginger. Make sure the mixture is made from equal proportions of the substances.

Other treatment methods for leucoderma:

Ultraviolet rays, when exposed on the affected areas for a long time, can reduce the unsightly symptoms. Steroid creams, pills, and ointments are effective against leucoderma and they are either taken orally or applied over the affected regions. Depigmentation is another important procedure that is sometimes prescribed for treating leucoderma. In this method, the rest of the melanin-pigmented cells are disturbed and the melanocytes are killed. As a result, the entire general area turns pale and thus reduces the differentiation between the two varieties of cells.
